thanks...anyone know the score?
That probably means no playoffs for UVAW this year. They were #21 going into the game, and needed to break the top 16 in order to make the NAIA playoffs, which meant they needed to beat Cumberland AND Union, and then hope the pollsters voted them up high enough to make the playoffs. They probably won't get there now unfortunately.

Yea, looks like playoffs are out of the pic this year. But still a heck of a year, and gives everyone from the community something to look forward to next season.

Impressed that they went to OT with Cumberlands. I was afraid that could be a blowout.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
you must be thinking about another team. the most points uc had scored in a game all year was 27 before today. pikeville had beaten them 31-6. cavs snatched defeat from the jaws of victory today.
Nope, I'm not mistaken. They were 5-3. They were 8-2 last year, beating UVA-Wise 40-17. They were ranked in top 5 last year as well.
In the NAIA football rankings, for the week of October 31, (2005) the University of the Cumberlands (formerly Cumberland College) is #5. The Patriots (8-1, 3-0 MSC East) are coming off of a 40-17 victory at the University of Virginia's College at Wise (4-5, 1-2).

that was last year, what does that have to do with this year?
Well, if a team butchers you one year. Normally it doesn't go that quickly that far. You seldom see teams that blow you out one year that turn into an easy win the next year especially if they blow you out at home and the next year you're on the road. Yes the Cavs are better but you don't have teams go from 8-2 to 2-8 or vice versa. I mean there is a limited number of kids that most of the teams can add or that they lose.
